Reverse logistics is what makes Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) actually work — a network that collects e-waste from where it’s generated and routes it to a registered recycler, with the paper trail to prove it happened.

Under the 2022 Rules, producers need EPR Authorisation from the CPCB and must register their collection/recycling network on CPCB’s EPR portal.

By 2022, 2,061 producers held EPR authorisation or registration nationwide.

EPR recycling targets rise in phases: 60% of generation for FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25, 70% for FY 2025-26 and FY 2026-27, and 80% from FY 2027-28 onward.

Every tonne collected is matched to an EPR certificate on CPCB’s portal, tying pickup networks directly to a producer’s compliance record.
